Practical Information

Wildlife You Will See

You will not know exactly which animals you will see before the safari because wildlife moves freely in the parks. However, the areas you will visit are home to a large variety of animals.

During your game drives, you may see:

  • Lions
  • Elephants
  • Zebras
  • Wildebeest
  • Giraffes
  • Buffaloes
  • Hippos
  • Hyenas
  • Gazelles
  • Impalas
  • Warthogs
  • Baboons
  • Other antelopes
  • Cheetahs
  • Leopards
  • Many bird species

Your guide will use his experience to look for wildlife and will explain what you will see along the way.

Sometimes you may spend several minutes watching one animal. Other times, your guide may receive information about wildlife nearby and take you to that area.

The best safari moments will often happen when you are patient and allow the animals to behave naturally.

Your Private Safari Vehicle

You will travel in a 4x4 safari vehicle designed for wildlife viewing.

The vehicle will have large windows and a pop-up roof, allowing you to sit comfortably and get a good view of the animals.

You will spend several hours in the vehicle on some days, so your guide will make suitable stops for meals, short breaks and photography.

Your Safari Guide

Your guide will be one of the most important parts of your safari experience.

He will not only drive you around the parks. He will help you find animals, explain their behavior, identify different species and tell you about the places you will visit.

If you see something you do not understand, you can ask your guide.

If you want to spend more time watching lions, elephants or another animal, you can also discuss this with your guide.

The goal will be to give you enough time to enjoy the wildlife instead of simply driving past it.

Food During the Safari

You will have breakfast, lunch and dinner according to the itinerary.

You will normally have breakfast at your lodge or camp before starting the day's activities.

Lunch will either be served at your accommodation or provided as a packed safari lunch, depending on the day's schedule.

You will have dinner at your lodge or camp after returning from your game drive.

If you have a special diet or food allergy, you should inform us before the safari so that the necessary arrangements can be made.

What You Will Bring

You will need comfortable clothing and a few important personal items for the safari.

We recommend that you bring:

  • Lightweight trousers and shirts
  • Warm clothing for early mornings
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Hat or cap
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent
  • Camera and extra batteries
  • Binoculars
  • Personal medication
  • Small day bag
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Passport and travel documents

You will not need to bring too many clothes. A small, practical bag will be easier to manage during the safari.

What Will Happen Before the Safari

Before your safari begins, your guide will meet you in Arusha and explain the plan for the coming days.

You will have the opportunity to discuss your interests with your guide before you start.

If you are interested in photography, particular animals or specific experiences, you should tell your guide.

You should also make sure that your passport, Tanzania visa and travel insurance are ready before the safari.

What Will Happen During the Safari

You will spend most of your days exploring the national parks by safari vehicle.

Your guide will choose suitable routes and viewing areas based on the conditions and wildlife activity.

You will sometimes spend time driving between different areas of the parks. This is part of the safari because wildlife will not always be in one place.

When you find animals, you will have time to stop and watch them.

You will be expected to follow your guide's instructions when you are close to wildlife. You should remain inside the vehicle unless your guide tells you that it is safe to get out.

You will also be asked not to shout at animals, feed them or throw anything outside the vehicle.

After Your Safari

After your final day, you will return to Arusha.

Your guide will drop you off at your hotel or another agreed location.

If you will continue your Tanzania holiday after the safari, you can arrange the next part of your trip in advance. You may continue to Zanzibar, begin a Kilimanjaro climb or arrange another Tanzania experience.

Best Time for a 6 Days Tanzania Private Safari

You will be able to take this safari throughout the year, but the experience will change depending on the season.

During the dry season, vegetation will generally be thinner and animals may gather around available water sources, making wildlife easier to spot in some areas.

During the wet seasons, you will see greener landscapes, and many animals will have young. Birdlife will also be particularly interesting during these periods.

If your main goal will be to see the Great Migration, the best area will depend on your travel month because the herds will move through different parts of the Serengeti during the year.

We will help you choose the most suitable itinerary based on your travel dates and interests.

Book Your 6 Days Tanzania Private Safari

To plan your safari, you will only need to share your travel dates, number of travelers and preferred accommodation level.

We will then prepare your safari according to your schedule and interests, with a private vehicle and professional safari guide throughout your journey.
