Located just off the northeast coast near Matemwe, Mnemba Island is surrounded by a protected marine reserve known for its vibrant coral reefs, tropical fish, sea turtles, and dolphins. Though landing on Mnemba Island itself is not allowed (it’s privately owned), the surrounding waters are open for snorkeling and swimming. The clear, shallow sea makes it ideal even for beginners. You’ll explore colorful reefs, enjoy a relaxing boat ride, and have time to swim or sunbathe in the Indian Ocean. Itinerary:

08:00 AM – Pick-up from your hotel
You’ll be picked up from your hotel (Stone Town or beach areas) and transferred to Matemwe Beach, where your boat awaits.

09:30 AM – Departure by boat to Mnemba Atoll
Board a traditional dhow or motorboat and cruise toward Mnemba Atoll. Keep an eye out for dolphins along the way, they’re often seen in these waters.

10:00 AM – Snorkeling near Mnemba Island
You will arrive at the snorkeling site and enjoy up to 2 hours of guided snorkeling. Swim among colorful corals, tropical fish, sea stars, and, if you're lucky, green sea turtles.

12:00 PM – Refreshments on board or sandbank break
After snorkeling, you’ll enjoy fresh fruits, snacks, and soft drinks served on the boat. Some tours also include a visit to a nearby sandbank, where you can swim, sunbathe, or just relax.

01:30 PM – Return boat ride to Matemwe
