Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Your driver will meet you at the airport (Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport) and take you to your hotel in Arusha town. You’ll have time to rest after your journey. If you arrive early, optional tours around Arusha can be arranged, or you can relax at the lodge.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up and drive you to Tarangire National Park, about 2 hours away. The park is known for its large elephant herds and old baobab trees. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive, stopping to see zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and possibly lions or leopards. A picnic lunch will be served at a nice spot in the park. In the late afternoon, you’ll head to your campsite near the park or Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

Today starts early. After breakfast, you’ll leave the camp and begin the long but scenic drive to Serengeti National Park. After entering the Serengeti, you’ll enjoy a game drive through the endless plains, looking for lions, elephants, cheetahs, and many other animals. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch during the drive, then continue toward your campsite in the heart of the park. Dinner will be served at camp.

Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti

This is a full day to explore the Serengeti. After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive when animals are most active. You’ll return to the campsite in the evening for dinner and another peaceful night in the wild.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Enjoy one last morning game drive in Serengeti after breakfast, then begin your drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In the afternoon, arrive at your campsite near the crater rim. This high-altitude site offers cooler weather and great views. Enjoy dinner and relax at camp.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater - Game Drive to Lake Manyara

After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. This is one of the best places in Africa to spot all of the Big Five; lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard, in a single day. You’ll also see hippos, flamingos, and more. After a picnic lunch near a hippo pool, drive to a nearby campsite near Lake Manyara, where you’ll enjoy your final night on safari.

Day 7: Lake Manyara to Arusha - End of Safari

You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your 7-day Tanzania camping safari.
