Best Time for Luxury Kenya & Tanzania Safari in 2026-2027

June to October (Dry Season):
This is the best time for most safaris. The weather is sunny, cool, and very comfortable. Because there is little rain, animals gather around rivers and waterholes, making them easier to see. This is also when the Great Wildebeest Migration happens millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move across the Serengeti and Maasai Mara. The grass is short, so it’s easy to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, and other wildlife during game drives. It’s a great time for clear skies, beautiful sunsets, and exciting animal action.

December to March (Green Season):
This time of year is warm, green, and full of life. After the short rains, the parks look fresh and beautiful, perfect for taking pictures. Many baby animals are born, and there are lots of colorful birds everywhere a dream for birdwatchers. The parks are quieter, with fewer tourists, so you can enjoy a peaceful safari experience. Even though there may be some rain, it usually doesn’t last long and helps keep the scenery lush and bright.

Choosing the Right Time:
Both seasons are amazing in their own way. If you want to see big animal herds and dramatic wildlife moments, visit from Juneto October. If you love green landscapes, baby animals, and fewer crowds, go from December to March. No matter when you visit, Kenya and Tanzania offer unforgettable safari adventures all year round.
