Overview

 This 5-day midrange fly-in safari combines two of Tanzania’s most untouched wilderness areas: Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere National Park) and Ruaha National Park. You will fly from Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam, saving time and enjoying stunning aerial views of Tanzania’s landscapes. In Selous, you’ll enjoy game drives, a unique boat safari along the Rufiji River, and possibly a walking safari with an armed ranger. The park is rich with elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wild dogs, and incredible birdlife. Next, you’ll fly to Ruaha, Tanzania’s largest and most remote park. Here you’ll explore rugged terrain dotted with baobabs and rocky outcrops while spotting large elephant herds, buffalo, antelopes, and predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Each night, you will stay in comfortable midrange tented camps or lodges, offering warm hospitality and authentic bush experiences. This safari is ideal if you want comfort, adventure, and excellent value.

Itinerary

Day 1: Zanzibar/Dar – Selous Game Reserve

You will take a scenic flight to Selous. On arrival, your guide will pick you up and transfer you to your camp. In the afternoon, you’ll head out for a boat safari along the Rufiji River, where you’ll spot hippos, crocodiles, and many colorful birds. Dinner and overnight at a midrange tented camp.

Day 2: Full-Day Safari in Selous

After breakfast, you will spend the day exploring Selous by vehicle, searching for elephants, zebras, lions, and maybe even the rare wild dogs. A picnic lunch will be served in the bush before continuing your game drive. Return in the evening to your camp for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3: Selous – Fly to Ruaha National Park
