Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, your safari begins with a drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, which takes you about 2-3 hours. This park is famous for its large number of elephants, ancient baobab trees, and the Tarangire River, which attracts animals all year round. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive, stopping to watch giraffes, zebras, lions, and many types of birds. In the late afternoon, you’ll leave the park and head to the nearby town of Karatu, where you’ll rest for the night in a comfortable lodge.
· Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Overnight in Karatu (mid-range lodge)
Day 2: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, you’ll begin your journey to the Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive is long but very scenic, with chances to see wildlife along the way. You’ll arrive in the Serengeti around midday and begin your first game drive in the park. You’ll explore the central part of the Serengeti, which is known for its open plains and large animal populations. You might see lions resting under acacia trees, elephants crossing the plains, or cheetahs scanning the grass for prey.
· Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Overnight inside Serengeti National Park (mid-range tented camp)
Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
This morning, you’ll enjoy another game drive in the Serengeti, taking in the fresh morning air and searching for animals you may not have seen yet. It’s one of the best times to see predators like lions or hyenas active before the heat of the day. After the game drive and lunch, you’ll leave the Serengeti and drive back toward the Ngorongoro crater, with more wildlife viewing along the way. You’ll arrive near the crater rim in the late afternoon, just in time to relax and enjoy the view.
· Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Overnight near Ngorongoro Crater (mid-range lodge)
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. This area is one of the best places in Africa to see many types of animals in one place. You might spot rhinos, buffalo, wildebeest, flamingos, hippos, and lions all living inside the crater. After a picnic lunch near a waterhole, you’ll begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, depending on your plans.
