Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a special conservation area created to protect and grow Uganda’s rhino population. The sanctuary is large and quiet, filled with natural vegetation where the rhinos live and move freely. During your walking safari, rangers guide you along safe paths and explain how they track the rhinos every day. You also learn about how the rhinos became endangered and how the sanctuary is helping them recover. Besides rhinos, the sanctuary has many birds, reptiles, and small animals that you may spot along the way. Budongo Forest Reserve

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Pick-up – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Transfer to Budongo Forest
Your guide picks you up early from Kampala or Entebbe and you begin a scenic drive through local villages, forests, and farmland. When you arrive at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you meet trained rangers who lead you on a safe walking adventure to find the rhinos. You observe them feeding, resting, and moving freely in the sanctuary while learning how conservation efforts are bringing rhinos back to Uganda.
After your rhino walk, you have lunch and continue driving to Budongo Forest. The forest is cool, green, and peaceful, great for relaxing after your day’s adventure. Once you arrive at the lodge, you check in, enjoy a warm shower, explore the area, or simply rest while listening to the sounds of nature. In the evening, you enjoy dinner prepared at the lodge.
