Day Trip Itinerary.
Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. You will drive for about 3–4 hours to Londorossi Gate on the western side of Kilimanjaro. After completing registration, a 4x4 transfer takes you further up to Morum Barrier Gate (around 3,400m), where the hiking adventure begins.
The hike across the Shira Plateau is gentle yet rewarding, offering expansive views of Kilimanjaro’s snowcapped peak, the Shira Cathedral, and surrounding valleys. You will walk for 3–4 hours through moorland vegetation, with chances to see wildlife such as buffalo, eland, and colobus monkeys. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed on the plateau with incredible views before beginning the descent.
In the late afternoon, you return to Morum Barrier Gate where your driver awaits for the transfer back to Arusha or Moshi, arriving in the evening. This day trip combines nature, adventure, and scenic beauty, making it an unforgettable short experience of Kilimanjaro
