Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Morogoro – Udzungwa Mountains National Park

Your adventure begins very early in the morning with a transfer from your hotel in Dar es Salaam at 4:00 AM to the SGR railway station.

At 6:00 AM, board the fast-moving Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) train heading to Morogoro. Enjoy a smooth and comfortable journey of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes while admiring the beautiful Tanzanian landscapes along the way.

Upon arrival at Morogoro SGR Station, you will meet our professional safari guide who will warmly welcome you and brief you about your safari adventure. Thereafter, proceed by road to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, one of Tanzania’s most spectacular rainforest parks and part of the Eastern Arc Mountains.

After arrival, begin your guided hiking adventure through the lush tropical forest. During the hike, you will discover:

• Various species of monkeys including the endemic Iringa Red Colobus Monkey

Later, depart for Mikumi National Park, one of Tanzania’s most accessible and wildlife-rich national parks. The drive offers scenic views of local villages, mountains, and the beautiful countryside of Southern Tanzania.

Upon arrival in Mikumi, enjoy lunch and relax at the lodge before heading out for an evening game drive depending on arrival time.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

After an early breakfast, depart at around 7:30 AM for a full-day game drive inside Mikumi National Park.

Explore different areas of the park while searching for wildlife in their natural habitat. Mikumi is often compared to the Serengeti because of its open plains and rich wildlife population.

During the safari, you may spot:

• Large herds of elephants and buffaloes
• Giraffes crossing the plains
• Hippos relaxing in pools

At around 1:00 PM, stop at a picnic site inside the park and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with bottled drinking water.

Day 4: Mikumi Safari – Morogoro – Dar es Salaam

At around 4:00 PM, depart from Mikumi and drive back to Morogoro SGR Station for your evening train back to Dar es Salaam.

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, our driver will transfer you back to your hotel or airport, marking the end of your unforgettable Southern Tanzania safari adventure.
