Itinerary

Arrive with the SGR Train from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro (06:00 am – 07:30 am). Upon arrival, you will be met by our professional driver-guide and start your adventure.

Early morning pickup from the SGR station in Morogoro and drive straight to Mikumi National Park (approximately 2-hour drive). Upon arrival, enjoy a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park, often referred to as the “mini Serengeti” for its vast plains and abundant wildlife. Expect to see elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and hippos in the pools. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park, followed by an afternoon game drive before heading to your lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Meal Plan: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

After an early breakfast, head out for a full-day safari in Mikumi. Explore different park areas, including the Mkata Floodplain—one of the best spots for wildlife viewing in Tanzania’s southern circuit. Enjoy your packed lunch inside the park while watching the wildlife in their natural habitat. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart from Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, a journey filled with scenic landscapes and local culture along the way. Upon arrival, proceed for a guided hike to the magnificent Sanje Waterfalls, offering panoramic views of the park and the surrounding Kilombero Valley. The crystal-clear water at the base of the falls is perfect for a refreshing swim after the hike. You may also encounter primates and other forest mammals, making it a truly memorable experience. In the evening, return to your camp for relaxation and dinner.

After breakfast, head back into the lush Udzungwa forests for another trek, this time focusing on observing the endangered primate species such as the Udzungwa Red Colobus Monkey and the Sanje Crested Mangabey—species found only in this region. Enjoy birdwatching, spotting butterflies, and smaller forest animals before returning to camp for lunch. In the afternoon, drive back to Morogoro for your evening SGR train back to Dar es Salaam (07:30 pm – 08:45 pm).
