3-Day Tanzania Budget Safari Itinerary

This 3-day Tanzania budget safari is designed for travelers who want to experience three of Tanzania’s most popular wildlife destinations in a short amount of time. The itinerary combines exciting game drives in Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Park, offering a great introduction to Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit.

After breakfast, your professional safari guide will pick you up in Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, approximately a two-hour drive. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. Begin your game drive after entering the park. Look out for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing your afternoon game drive. Later, leave Tarangire and drive toward the Karatu area for dinner and overnight at your selected budget accommodation.

After an early breakfast, drive to the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an exciting wildlife game drive. The crater is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife areas. During the crater game drive, you may see lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, flamingos, and many other bird species. With some luck, you may also spot the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater. After ascending from the crater, drive toward the Lake Manyara or Karatu area for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, continue to Lake Manyara National Park for your final game drive. The park is known for its beautiful landscapes, groundwater forests, large elephant populations, abundant birdlife, and seasonal tree-climbing lions. Explore the park with your safari guide while looking for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, baboons, hippos, monkeys, and numerous bird species. Enjoy lunch before beginning your journey back to Arusha. Arrive in the afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your memorable 3-Day Tanzania Budget Safari.
